Description/Job Summary

Supporting the Payroll Specialist with all Payroll duties.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Processing new starters, leavers and salary deductions
  • Calculating salary increases, back-pay, holiday, sick and maternity pay
  • Collate and process monthly overtime sheets
  • Maintain records for all employee payments eg. season tickets, cycle to work scheme, loans
  • Process monthly benefit files for BIK tax deductions
  • Chase line managers for missing information where necessary
  • Liaise with HMRC where necessary
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, HR and Finance
  • Resolving payroll related queries, dealing with access issued to payroll portal
  • Monthly electronic filing of all paperwork for audit purposes
  • Auto enrolment duties: Liaising with third party payroll provider on assessment and contribution files, reconciling the pension files back to the payroll. Adhering to auto-enrolment regulations (the payroll software calculates eligibility), advising staff on contribution levels and liaising with the pension provider in relation to contribution payments, etc; updating and importing monthly payroll contributions to pension portal
  • Assisting with monthly payroll journal
  • Assisting with any required reporting, both internal and statutory
  • Assisting with month end and year end duties
  • Assisting with general reconciliations where required
  • Assist with statutory year end returns and P60s.
  • Assisting with twice monthly US expat payroll and associated journals
  • Assist in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of the payroll integration from Workday to ADP – Due to go live October
  • Liaise with ADPs technical team on any file upload errors
  • Generally assisting the Payroll Specialist as required
Required Skills
  • Experience of using ADP iHCM or other prominent payroll software systems
  • Experience of Workday preferable but not required
  • Experience of international payrolls preferable but not required
  • Confident with numbers and standard payroll calculations, strong working knowledge of MS Excel e,g, formulae, v-lookups, pivot tables
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the firm
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Meticulous and accurate with attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions well, fast learner & team player with a ‘can do’/positive attitude
  • Sound judgment
  • Demonstrable experience/knowledge of statutory legislation relating to PAYE/NIC and Statutory Payments
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • At least 3-5 years UK payroll experience gained at a similar level within a fast-moving demanding environment
  • Experience of running dual currency (GBP and USD) payrolls
