Description/Job Summary

This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to develop a knowledge function within the team, supporting our lawyers to maintain and grow their technical knowledge and horizon-scanning for our clients.

Responsibilities/Duties

Our Knowledge Lawyer will support the UK Tax team in all aspects of knowledge and technical knowhow, which will include:

  • monitoring UK tax legislative changes and case law developments;
  • creating, improving and managing precedent documents and template advice;
  • helping to keep the team up to speed on legal and market developments and sector ‘hot topics’;
  • assisting with pitches and technical/marketing presentations for clients;
  • developing a training programme for the team, including preparation of materials and delivery of some training/legal update sessions;
  • updating and writing team guidance notes;
  • building and managing our knowhow/precedent bank;
  • supporting key clients with training and knowledge services; and
  • supporting the team on ad hoc queries.
Required Skills
  • Experience as a knowledge lawyer is preferred but not essential.
  • We anticipate this role would best suit a lawyer with 7+ years relevant PQE, but will consider less experienced candidates with a strong interest in the role.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • to be proactive;
  • to be a self-starter with a ‘can do’ approach;
  • sound judgment;
  • strong commercial awareness;
  • a strong desire to offer first class advice and service to the team; and
  • a strong interest in the black letter law, excellent technical skills and an eye for detail.

You will ideally have expertise in the taxation of investment funds and their executives.
