Description/Job Summary

This is newly created role for our dedicated Risk and Compliance team which sits within the OGC. 1-4 years legal experience is required in this fast paced environment. You will act as a key advisor for the team and firm.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Keeping abreast of relevant regulatory and compliance changes/developments and monitoring how this will affect firm policy;
  • Advising on policy changes that will need to take place in line with regulatory developments and changes in law as required and draft amendments to such policies;
  • Support with training for the firm and team;
  • Working closely with the firm's Director of European Risk and Compliance on risk and compliance projects;
  • Supervising junior members of the risk and compliance team and offering guidance as appropriate;
  • Working with key stakeholders and acting as a representative for the firm's compliance function at events;
  • Supporting the firm with general risk and compliance queries;
  • Liaising with the COLP as appropriate;
  • Assisting with data privacy and appropriate analysis as it relates to work of the OGC;
  • Contract review for third party suppliers; and
  • Other adhoc duties as required.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree required (2:1 or above preferred);
  • Must be qualified lawyer with 1-4 PQE;

•       Previous experience within a compliance team is desirable;

•       Fee earners with regulatory experience who are considering their first role within a Risk and Compliance team will also be welcomed;

  • A very high level of attention to detail;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Ability to draft clearly and concisely;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
  • The ability to influence and persuade at all levels
  • Strong decision making capabilities;
  • Team player;
  • Must have sound judgment;
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Good planning, time management and prioritisation skills; and
  • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
