To assist the HR team by providing high quality, proactive and efficient HR support. |
Operational HR
- Undertaking all administration related to holiday requests, absence, sickness, maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, occupational health referrals, flexible working requests, probationary periods, the leaver process, etc;
- Ensuring that up-to-date personal details are kept on all personnel; and
- Ensuring terms and conditions of service are kept up to date and to produce paperwork associated with any changes.
Health and wellbeing
- To provide administrative support on the health and wellbeing programmes for personnel including, occupational health checks, medicals, flu jabs, ergonomic assessments.
Compensation and benefits
- Assisting with market analysis;
- Assisting with current compensation and benefits and ensure the timely initiation of benefits;
- Assisting with the annual salary review process for business services staff; and
- Assisting with the completion of all compensation documentation including (but not limited to) promotions and salary amendments and ensure any amendments are logged on SelectHR.
Employee relations and engagement
- Assisting with conduct and capability, grievance and disciplinary issues and a broad range of employee relations matters involving all London employees; and
- Assisting with initiatives that increase engagement amongst all staff.
Learning and development and career progression
- Supporting and assisting when required on learning and development programmes; and
- Admin for the L&D team.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Assisting with training support of any equality, diversity and inclusion policies and procedures where necessary;
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the office; and
- Assisting with the organisation of diversity events.
Legal personnel and professional development
- Assisting with the associate mentoring programme;
- Assisting with internal and external secondment opportunities; and
- Assisting with all administration in conjunction with Associate feedback, work-life balance and Associate retention.
Recruitment
- Assisting the recruitment team as and when required.

- Minimum 2 years generalist HR experience at assistant level within legal services;
- Knowledge of current employment legislation, best practice and potential developments;
- Knowledge of and interest in HR Systems;
- Highly effective writing and communications skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to communicate credibly and diplomatically at all levels;
- Excellent time management and organisation skills,
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple highly detailed projects;
- Ability to manage a very busy workload within deadlines;
- Ability to solve problems on an immediate basis and work using initiative;
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills;
- High comfort level with stressful job requirements;
- Professionalism under pressure;
- Having a strong understanding of discretion and confidentiality;
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and hands-on attitude;
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Act as an ambassador for the HR team;
- Sound Judgement; and
- Available to work additional hours where necessary.
